What problem do our clients have to deal with that you help to fix?

Oh gosh, there’s so many I could talk about!

One of the biggest challenges our clients face is that they have to deal with a lot of competing priorities and demands. Sometimes those are internal, like getting buy-in across the business, and sometimes those are external forces from the market and competitors. I juggle those demands and ensure that they’re saying something that is bold or fresh with their content

“I enjoy the fact that no two days are the same. I wear lots of different hats at FT Longitude.”

I would like to think that the work that I do helps my clients to do their job better, to be able to overcome those challenges and have better relationships with their internal stakeholders.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I enjoy the fact that no two days are the same. I wear lots of different hats at FT Longitude.

I’m someone that enjoys diversity, and I think FT Longitude is a very dynamic place to work, there’s lots of very interesting and really intelligent people here. That means that there’s always a new challenge but everyone is always willing to jump in and tackle that with gusto.

Name a few campaigns you’ve worked on that stand out to you and explain why

I think Sodexo is a client that comes to mind most recently. That’s a standout project because it is all the different things that I love working on and that we do really well, all packaged into one campaign. We were working with the client from early on to create a strategy that involved getting internal stakeholder buy-in and alignment across the company. There’s a huge network of people now working on this very complex but hugely exciting project.

Another notable moment for me was probably an audio panel discussion I recorded recently, which was our first ever audio panel, and we had some really high profile speakers join that. Lord Deben, the UK’s longest-serving Secretary of State for the Environment and Major General David Southhall from the armed forces. I thought that was really interesting because defence is not a topic that we normally cover for our clients, but it was a really interesting and fresh take on sustainability which is a topic that we’re seeing increasingly in the market.

This year we celebrate our ten year anniversary and the company has grown a lot. What do you expect to see for the company for the next ten years?

Good question! I would like to see the company become more integrated and aligned with the Financial Times. I think we’ve got a really exciting opportunity to embed what we do in the amazing brand name and offering of the FT.

I think we can learn a lot from the FT, they have all of these amazing super high calibre journalists, writers, and likewise I think there’s a lot we can probably teach the FT. We have some really amazing and intelligent people with some really great skills that we can offer.
